Two Vector Pieces

This summer gave me time to reflect on myself and where the challenges of life have taken me. Im in a very creative and individual state of being right now, so if it feels like I have been distant to some people, I apologize. Lately all I want to do is focus on my art work and its significance to me or anyone else it may effect. I know it may be hard for people to see illustration as something that is personal, but there is a part of the process than commands ones own self reflection. The past couple of months have been that for me, self reflection. I believe I have found something finally to express, and that is myself.

Here's a concept jazz music has helped me evolve. Sirens trapped inside a piano! Horror and jazz music, a strange fusion! Developing a story for this cat.

Was my buddies birthday a couple days ago. Wanted to illustrate him a a wrestler, his true passion and one of the more ridiculous events one must watch every once and a while to not take things so seriously. I wonder if you took Shakespeare to a wrestling event?hum...

So it's time that I actually start regularly updating my blog regardless if Im doing any real illustrations at the moment. Im currently open for commissions right now, but nothings falling through, so I've got all the time in the world to sketch and have fun doodling around.

Trust me, Im The Doctor!

HHHOOO MI GOD!!! So exited for this season of Doctor Who, really falling in love with the show this time. Here's a piece I eventually want to turn into a poster and make some prints of for all you Doctor fans out there. Had a lot of fun discovering new ways to use Illustrator during this piece. Enjoy!

Them Magic Bullets

So finals are finished with, and its time to dig up some new post! Finished my comic book "Them Magic Bullets" finally. Short 6 pager I finished for my Comics: Pencils and Inks 2 class. Had a tremendous amount of fun working on them, learned soooooo much!! Just posting the first two pages and the cover page. Submitting the pages to Figments #2, and anthology of student work presented by the Comic Book Club. New Semester, Same Old Game

A year and a half from graduation, and time for a update. Went back home to Redondo Beach for the spring break and got to hang out with some faces that I haven't seen in ages. Thank's to everyone that I got to see for making me feel back at home!

Roof Top Jazz

So me and my brother are finally getting together this graphic novel project that's been in the air for a LOOONNNGGG time now, and we have this first book almost done. It's called Roof Top Jazz, a story about L.A. and our main character Mason Moore, an ex-FBI who end's up becoming a package boy for a local gang. Myles is writing and I am illustrating and co-writing the story. Here is just some rough character sketches I've been doing.

Mason is modeled after our good friend Corey, and is actually in the military just like our character. Well, not exactly. Mason was Special Op's for a while, the transfered to FBI. He's a wise cracking tough son-of-a-bitch that lives by the Art of War by Sun Tzu.

Paperboy, Mason's right hand man. Not sure if this is was Paperboy is gonna end up looking like in the book, but he's suppose to be modeled after Corey Feldman. Long live the Monster Squad!

Madison, Mason's ex-love interest. She end's up getting murdered by a crazed mass murderer named Chance. I don't want to give away too much, but let's just say she plays a big roll in Mason's past.

Fontana is the guy up top, just a secondary character, and Bruce is the brotha at the bottom. He end's up getting mixed up with Mason and the package situation.

Digital Illustration is kick'n my ass. Im such a noob when it comes to digital work, but this is my favorite piece so far from that class. Character assignment; she's suppose to be a bounty hunter circus freak.

My editorial assignment on Robert Ass-Pattern from Twilight. I couldn't stand 5 minutes of that movie. It gave vampires a bad name, and I don't even like vampires!!

Winter Break is almost over and school is just around the corner. Once I get this printer/ scanner working, I wana post some sketch book stuff I've been working on. For now here is some stuff I should have posted forever ago.

Here is a little Christmas present I ended up doing for my friends back in Redondo Beach. Their personalities completely fit the characters, so I thought it would be funny to illustrate them as Alice in Wonderland characters. I just got these really sweet brush pens mi amiga Katie recommended to me. So much fun!!

Im a huge Freddy fan. Not so happy with the claw on his hand so i drew a better one to the left.

I painted this Phil Hale master copy for class and have been in a Hale funk for a while, so I came up with this little interpretation on the copy I did. Not so happy with the giant robot hand (again with the hands), but the HAIR!! OH THE CRAZY HAIR!!!
